Paco Pomet at Estampa Contemporary Art Fair 2023
It is hard to believe that a year has gone by since we were writing about the 3 brilliant Paco Pomet works on show at Estampa 2022, yet Estampa 2023 opens today, and once again the My Name’s Lolita Art booth is providing visitors with a trifecta of superb works from the Granada based artist.
Now in its 30th edition, Estampa Contemporary Art Fair is one of the most prominent events in the Spanish art calendar, bringing together all major national galleries to create an unmissable few days for collectors. Held in Pavilion 4 of the expansive IFEMA MADRID, the fair continues to go from strength to strength each year, reflecting the vitality and interest in gallery art in Spain.
My Name’s Lolita Art are certainly one gallery that have upped the ante this year, presenting the jaw dropping Paco Pomet painting Flat Earther. At 270 x 200 cm it is one of Pomet’s largest works to date, certainly in portrait format, yet it is the relevancy of the concept of the piece - cemented by the array of clever details - that make this work stand out. Unsurprisingly (although, perhaps somewhat ironically), the painting is already getting a lot of attention on social media platforms, and has been a big hit with early visitors to the fair.
Two beautifully drawn works on paper based on Abyss and The Lighthouse - both favourites from Pomet’s recent solo exhibitions in Shanghai and Beijing - are also included in the setup, alongside works by Maria Acuyo, Jorge Henandez and Leo Wellmar.
Estampa runs until Sunday 22nd October 2023, and it is recommended that visitors book tickets in advance.
You will find the My Name’s Lolita Art presentation at Booth 4B17.
