Protection No Longer Assured, the latest exhibition by Colección SOLO, opens it doors to the public today at the groups stunning Espacio SOLO museum, located in the Puerta de Alcalá, Madrid.

The exhibition, which runs until the end of the year, invites visitors to ‘stand on the edge of an abyss’, and revisits the sublime notion of delightful horror through a selection of 63 artworks by 31 artists, across media including sculpture, painting, sound and AI art.

Three works by Paco Pomet are included in the incredible show, alongside the likes of Haroshi, Keiichi Tanaami, David Altmejd, Justin Matherly, Mika Rottenberg, Grip Face, Ryan Heshka, Motohiro Hayakawa and more.

“…in Paco Pomet’s El último día a la hora del té (2020), Belle Époque tourists gaze at a mushroom cloud, apparently oblivious to the reality they face. To these protagonists devastation seems distant, perhaps even entertaining.”

“In 9.11.01 (2021), Paco Pomet references the Twin Towers with two neoclassical columns. Based on a found photograph of a storage hall at the Prado Museum, the painting addresses themes of permanence and memory.”
